The Hospice
...“he felt safe enough to die in the hospice. That was such a big turnaround because whenever we had talked about him dying he had consistently expressed a desire to be in his home. On the Friday before he died I asked him if he wanted me to take him home. He looked at me and said: ‘No. I'm all right here. I'm back in my old room and they seem to know what I want. I think they know me here…' He knew he was dying and he knew he was in a place of safety. You gave him, and you have given me, such an incredible gift. He was able to die cleanly and peacefully. Of course I am left with a huge sense of loss but, thanks to your collective mindfulness, I am not plagued with any sense of having failed him.”...

Fundraising
"Working with the committee on this year's gala dinner with Henry Kissinger was such a rewarding experience. The evening was enjoyed by all and the night was a big success. Helping to organize these fundraising events is something that I truly enjoy and being a volunteer with St. John's is an important part of my life. It has helped me to give back to a community that has already given so much to me." Sharon Walsh
The Hospice Shop "I enjoy my time at the Hospice Shop 100%. Volunteering is rewarding and here you really feel like part of a team. I really look forward
to coming to work and I would definitely recommend volunteering here."
