Occupational Therapy

Font size:

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages and conditions whose abilities may have changed due to the physical and psychological effects of their illness.

At St John's, patients are seen by an occupational therapist throughout all stages of their illness. The service is offered to people in the Hospice's Inpatient unit, Day Services or those seen at home by the Community Team.

On referral, our occupational therapist will evaluate the patient's functional abilities and will assess how the home environment influences these abilities. For example, the height of the furniture may make it harder to move around or sit and stand.

Some people who have been in the hospice for a long time or have undergone significant changes may find a home assessment beneficial in alleviating concerns regarding a discharge home.

An occupational therapist may be contacted Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm on 020 7806 4039 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
