Social Work
The social workers at St John's are here to help you with any difficulties you may have. They are able to listen to you and help you think about your problems and the help you may need. Everyone is different and we recognise that people cope in their own way. There is no right or wrong way of doing things when you are facing a life-threatening illness. We will try to go at your pace and be guided by you. Sharing feelings can often be painful and difficult but can also be an enormous help.
As well as emotional support we can also advise on a range of practical matters. For example finances, benefits, housing, wills, power of attorney, disabled travel, getting help from Social Services, Immigration and problems with employers.
A social worker may be contacted Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 020 7806 4016/17 or email hospice.info@hje.org.uk.
