Drake Algar - Flowers that Raise Funds

Hospices and flowers go hand in hand and in December of 2004 St John's Hospice and Drake Algar, a highly respected florist established in St John's Wood in 1937, formed a partnership which will see St John's Hospice receive generous donations as a result.

Drake Algar estimate that they have delivered over 50,000 arrangements to the Hospice and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth since the florist opened over 65 years ago.  Now, all orders referred by or delivered to the Hospice or Hospital will generate a 10% donation to help provide high quality palliative care for those with terminal illness.

Robbie Hodges, co-owner of Drake Algar, believes, "When you read the impact that St John's Hospice has made on people's lives you know the funds genuinely provide comfort and relief.  After reading Mary's Story on the St John's Hospice website, who is only a few years older than myself, I got the feeling I'm actually helping to make a contribution whilst at the same time trying to make a living of my own."
