Recent Events

On Friday 5th October 2007, Claridges Hotel in London played host to the most glamorous and exclusive charity event of the year, which raised an amazing £110k for the Hospice.

A specially invited audience of 200 guests celebrated life and all that we enjoy most about it: fashion, food, music and great company in aid of St. John's Hospice.

Prof. Jimmy Choo unveiled a selection of his most beautiful couture creations, Ben de Lisi staged a breathtaking fashion show and guests were treated to top class entertainment and an exciting auction.

Our thanks once again to Anne Lady Jaffray, Patricia Birtwistle and Friends who, on Wednesday 3rd October, held a very special musical performance by Le Page Ensemble, playing favourite pieces from The Borodin String Quartet, Mozart and Elgar, followed by Supper and Wine, in aid of St. John's Hospice. The event raised a gratefully received £5,000.

This Christmas Fayre and Pantomime took place on Saturday 8th December, raising over £2,500 for St John's Hospice!

The Hospital was spilling over with stall holders, bargain hunters, families and staff. Everyone was treated to some delicious Starbucks refreshments, home-made cakes and a huge variety of things to buy. The atmosphere was kept festive all day with beautiful Christmas hymns and carols being sung by the Philbeach Choir, and the wonderful performance of Cinderella, by Pyramid Pantomimes, kept the children smiling all afternoon!

A huge thank you to all of our kind donors and volunteers, without which the day would not have been such a success. Thank you to all those who came along and we hope to see you there again this year! Click here for photos...

Light up a Life 2007

Thanks to everyone who supported Light up a Life - I hope you found it a moving and fitting way to remember and celebrate the lives of your loved ones.

The service at St John's Wood church was very successful, with representatives from the Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu faiths all congregated together to make it truly multi-faith. Following our candlelit procession from the church up to the Hospice, the tree lights were switched on by ITV's Chief Political Correspondent, Daisy McAndrew, who sadly lost her father in St John's Hospice in 2006.

To all of you who kindly donated towards this event in memory of a loved one - thank you - your contributions totalled £16,500, which is more than we have ever raised from Light up a Life. Click here for photos..
