Every year it costs us approximately £2.65 million to provide the range of services available at St John's Hospice.  We receive almost half this amount from the NHS which means that every year we must raise over £1 million from our supporters. 

Our multi-disciplinary team provide a range of services to meet the needs of anyone who needs us:

Our 19 bedded In-patient Unit provides respite care, sympton control & terminal care in warm, friendly and supportive surroundings.  It costs around £8,200 per day to keep this up and running.

Our Day Services Centre welcomes clients from their initial diagnosis, providing palliative care, complementary therapies & a range of activities & resources, such as drama & arts classes, in a safe & supportive space.  Services are provided 4 days a week at a cost of £1,600 per day.

Our 24-hour Hospice at Home health care workers remain with a patient during the later stages of their illness and importantly, lessen the strain on those family members who are caring for their relative.  This service costs around £560 per day.

Our Community Team, made up of specialist nurses and social workers, visit and care for those who prefer to remain in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their own home while ill.  This service costs approximately £1,200 per day. 

Our dedicated and highly qualified team of Social workers provide support and guidance to our patients and their relatives and friends at a cost of £500 per day.
