In-Patient Unit & Day Services Centre

Volunteers on our In-patient Unit and in our Day Services Centre provide both practical and emotional support to our patients.  As well serving meals and refreshments and helping out with tasks such as flower arranging, they are there to provide companionship and support to patients - something we place great importance on.

Befriending

Our Befriending Volunteers are truly unique individuals; each volunteer is matched with one of our Hospice patients who might be in need of that extra bit of company and friendship.  Together, they forge a reliable, trusting and consistent relationship, often enabling a patient to fulfil everyday tasks and simply enjoy themselves more.

Volunteering in Fundraising
If you think you might like to volunteer in Fundraising, we are looking for assistance in the following areas:

• Helping at our events throughout the year
• Assisting with mailings and appeals in the Fundraising Office (especially towards Christmas!)
• Helping with collections at various London Underground stations

Another way in which you can support our fundraising efforts is to take part in a sponsored event such as the London Marathon, the British 10k London Run or the Ladies 5k Hydro Active Challenge.  Why not take a look at the fundraising events we have coming up in 2008....

Charity Shop
We are always looking for volunteers in our charity shop on St John's Wood High street.  The shop is open 7 days a week so there plenty of opportunity to find a time that suits you.  If you would like to find out about volunteering in the shop contact Laurie M'Batch, our Charity Shop Manager on 020 7449 9791 or email fundraising@hje.org.uk.
