About this role

St John’s Hospice support over 4,000 people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across North London each year.  Our services include community care, Hospice@Home, day services, inpatient care, social and welfare support, therapies and bereavement support.  We care for anyone over the age of 18 no matter their socio economic, religious or residential status.

Our services are in more demand than ever with two other local hospices closing services and so we are looking for an energetic, dedicated Partnerships Manager to join our Fundraising team to help in raising vital funds. The team is located at the hospice in St John’s Wood but this role is being offered in a hybrid working model. The post holder will look after major donors, corporate partners as well as line manage the Donor Engagement Executive.

The team is busy, dynamic and achieves above expected targets – we do this by working together not just as a fundraising team but also with the wider hospice clinical teams. The role will allow the holder to work alongside the Director and clinical leads to develop and create new unique aspects to our services helping us improve patient care and maintain donor engagement.

What are the key responsibilities of this role?

  • Work closely with the Director of Fundraising to develop Major Donor and Corporate strategies, leading on their implementation and contributing to continual progression
  • Research and develop new income generation opportunities, leading on the production of applications
  • To work with colleagues within the fundraising team to proactively maximise opportunities from other income streams
  • Manage the Donor Engagement Executive providing clear objectives and reviews as well as effective and supportive line management
  • Be a spokesperson working closely with the Director of Fundraising to manage high level and complex donor relationships
  • Ensure the team work to the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, GDPR and provide an excellent standard of supporter care

Am I the right person for this role?

  • Experience in high value fundraising
  • Line management or supervisory experience
  • Budget Management Experience
  • Experience of winning significant funding from major donors/ corporates or commercial equivalent
  • Track record of stakeholder engagement and working with staff at all levels
  • Experience of contributing to strategies in line with organisational plans
  • Experience of Sales Force or other CRM system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team Player
  • Self-Starter
