Please do not visit the Hospice if you or anyone in your household have any flu like symptoms such as a fever, a cough or you are experiencing breathing difficulties. Please self-isolate and visit NHS 111 online. Click here for the latest information.

School Fundraising

Our team of social workers and counsellors work closely with schools and families with young children to help children cope with the new and frightening experience of bereavement.

Local schools recognise the value of St John’s Hospice’s work in the community and are a huge source of support for the Hospice. Whether you are a pre-school, infant, primary, secondary school, college or university there are many ways that you can help.

What can you do for us?

  • We are keen to encourage schools and colleges to engage in activities which raise awareness of the hospice as well as vital funds.
  • Run art competitions & projects.
  • Get involved in our events such as carol singing at our Light Up A Life service.
  • Organise your own fundraising events. Our team can provide ideas as well as posters, sponsor forms, banners and balloons.

What we can do for you

We can offer interactive talks, creative workshops and projects tailored to different age groups and to support the curriculum.

We cover a series of topics related to the work of St John’s Hospice including Charity, Fundraising and Recycling, as well as the more sensitive issues surrounding end of life care.
