St John's Hospice has been awarded a grant from Julia and Hans Rausing

Every day our hospice team go that extra mile to make sure our patients and their families and carers can access the support they need whether it's medical, practical, spiritual, or emotional.

‍

And as the need for our hospice care grows, so does the call for staff, and inevitably for funding. So, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank philanthropists, Julia and Hans Rausing, who have today announced grants to 27 hospices across the UK of which St John’s Hospice is one.

‍

The generous three-year grant we have been awarded recognises the value of our hospice and will help us shore up and invest in our clinical team so that we can continue to meet the needs of our patients and families. This means we will be able to in turn launch an enhanced programme of psychological support, social welfare and bereavement care for adults, young people and children.

‍

Living with a life-limiting condition can have far-reaching consequences both for patients and for those who look after them. We’re therefore extremely grateful to Julia and Hans Rausing whose giving helps champion holistic hospice care and those who work so hard to deliver it.

‍

If you would like to find out more about making a major gift and our current funding needs, please contact Jenny by emailing jenny.mercer@hje.org.uk or calling 020 3747 6090.
