TCS London Marathon

The London Marathon is known for its iconic route and inspiring atmosphere. Run through the capital as part of Team St John’s and experience this race like no other.

About the event

The iconic London Marathon takes in many of the city’s incredible landmarks including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. With thousands of supporters lining the streets cheering your name, it is truly a race like no other.

By running as part of Team St John’s you will not only join the over one million people who can proudly say, “I ran the London Marathon” but you will be helping us to provide quality, holistic care when it is needed most.

Our charity places for 2025 are now open! Apply for one of our limited spaces by 4th August 2025 by clicking 'Apply for a charity place.'

If you have entered the 2025 TCS London Marathon Ballot and are lucky enough to gain your own place in July but would still like to fundraise as part of #TeamStJohns, you can let us know by completing our own place application form here. As an own place runner, there is no minimum fundraising target. We just ask that you raise as much as you can to help us enable people to live well for as long as possible.

Kealan, pausing to hug his family.

“I could run these marathons for the rest of my life, and it couldn’t pay St John’s back for the priceless care they gave to Michael and to us. We take comfort in the care and support provided to him and so, to be able to give something back for that gift was something I had to do. It has allowed us to take something positive from such a devastating time and I highly recommend it to anyone in the same position.”

Kealan, Runner.

Why run for St John’s?

As part of Team St John’s you will receive:

  • A free technical running vest.
  • One-on-one support and mentoring to help you with your fundraising.
  • Regular e-newsletters to keep you up to date with all our latest news and activities.
  • Race day support from the side-lines with our cheer stations.

Most importantly, your fundraising will help us to reach more people and provide more care. Whether it is supporting a child with a bereavement counselling session following the loss of a loved one, providing a community nurse with new clinical equipment, or providing specialist one-to-one nursing on our Inpatient Unit, your fundraising will enable even more people in our community to live well for longer.

How your support helps

  • £25 could fund a bereavement counselling session for a patient's loved one, providing them with much needed support at the toughest time.
  • £50 could fund a group art therapy session in our Wellbeing Centre enabling our patients to learn new skills, express themselves and above all else, relax and have fun with one another.
  • £250 could fund a day of expert nursing care from a Healthcare Assistant in our Inpatient Unit.
  • £500 could fund 24-hour at home nursing care for a patient who wants to remain in familiar and comforting surroundings in the later stages of their illness.
