About the event

Step Up for St John’s is a new virtual challenge designed to fit around your everyday life.

Walk or run 30 miles across 30 days this June. Whether it’s your commute, a walk in the park or a weekend run, every mile you complete helps support patients and families when they need it most.

What you’ll get:

When you sign up, you’ll receive everything you need to get started:

  • A St John’s Hospice t-shirt to wear throughout your challenge.
  • Your own online fundraising page powered by Funraisin, with interactive badges that track your progress through the virtual boroughs.
  • The option to connect your page to Strava to automatically log your miles as you go.
  • A ‘Step Up’ medal when you reach £100 or more in fundraising, as a thank you and a reminder of your achievement.
  • Access to our Facebook group and Strava Club.

Why take part?

By taking part this June, you’ll be helping us provide vital care across the communities we serve.

Our care reaches across Camden, Westminster, Brent, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Islington and Harrow, supporting patients and families living with life-limiting illnesses.

If you were to walk across these areas, it would total around 30 miles. This challenge represents that journey, connecting every step you take with the people we care for every day.

How it works

  • Walk or run 30 miles across June
  • Fit it into your everyday life, your commute, daily walk or weekend run
  • Track your miles through your online fundraising page and earn badges as you progress through the challenge
  • Connect to Strava or your fitness app to log your activity automatically
  • Fundraise to support vital hospice care
  • Take part solo or as a team

Your fundraising page, powered by Funraisin, makes it easy to track your progress, share updates, and collect donations all in one place.

How your support helps

Every mile you complete and every pound you raise throughout June will help us provide compassionate care when it matters most.

  • £20 could fund a bereavement counselling session for a patient’s loved one.
  • £35 could provide a home visit from a community nurse.
  • £50 could fund art and music therapy sessions in our Wellbeing Centre.
