St John’s Hospice awarded prestigious Investing in Volunteers accreditation

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Investing in Volunteers accreditation, the UK’s nationally recognised quality standard for volunteer management.

‍

This prestigious award is a mark of excellence and reflects our strong commitment to best practice in supporting, valuing and involving volunteers across our organisation. It recognises the strength of our Volunteer Programme and highlights the vital role volunteers play in helping us deliver compassionate care every day. For both current and prospective volunteers, the accreditation provides reassurance that their time, skills and dedication are recognised, supported and truly appreciated.

‍

Achieving this accreditation is a significant milestone for St John’s Hospice and follows a rigorous, year-long assessment process. This included workshops, focus groups, interviews and a comprehensive review of our volunteer programme, policies and practices.

‍

We would like to thank all our staff and volunteers who shared their time, insights and ideas throughout the process. Your contributions were instrumental in achieving this important recognition.

‍

The accreditation process has also enabled us to strengthen our volunteer programme even further. As a result, we have enhanced volunteer support and management, updated policies and procedures, improved feedback and communication channels, increased recognition and visibility for volunteers, and clarified expectations for both volunteers and staff.

‍
