London Marathon 2027

Thank you for choosing to support St John’s Hospice by taking part in the London Marathon! We are delighted to have you join Team St John’s.

In order to complete your registration, you must agree to the terms and conditions listed below.

Fundraising

  1. By signing up to take part in the TCS London Marathon 2027 in aid of St John’s Hospice, you are agreeing to raise a minimum of £2,500.00 in sponsorship. You must make it clear to everyone supporting your fundraising that you are raising funds ‘in aid of’ St John's Hospice.
  2. If the minimum target of £2,500.00 is not met by the deadline, participants may be required to cover the shortfall themselves at the discretion of St John’s Hospice.
  3. All fundraising activities must comply with local laws and regulations. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their methods are lawful and ethical. You also agree to refer to the St John’s Safe and Legal fundraising guidelines and any other relevant information required to ensure safe and legal fundraising.
  4. You acknowledge that St John’s Hospice cannot and does not take responsibility for any losses in connection with your fundraising.
  5. By accepting a London Marathon place on Team St John’s, you commit to the following fundraising milestones to support local Hospice care. If milestones are not met, St John’s Hospice reserves the right to withdraw your charity place at any time:

    • If you register before 01.09.2026, you agree to raise or donate at least £850 by 30.11.2026.
    • You agree to raise or donate £1,650 by 28.02.2027, regardless of registration date.
    • The full £2,500 amount must be collected by 30.05.2027 - unless otherwise agreed with St John’s Hospice.
    • If at any point you feel you may struggle to reach the fundraising target, you must let St John’s Hospice know as soon as possible sowe can support you.

Withdrawal

  1. If you are unable to take part in the TCS London Marathon, you agree to inform St John’s Hospice as soon as possible. Your place cannot be deferred to an alternative year.
  2. The registration fee for the TCS London Marathon 2027 is non-refundable. Any fundraising will not be refunded unless requested by the individual donor.
  3. If you withdraw from the event after 01.02.27, you may still be responsible for raising and submitting the minimum target of £2500.00 (excluding registration fee and Gift Aid) at the discretion of St John’s Hospice.
  4. St John’s Hospice reserves the right to withdraw your charity place in the Event at any time in exceptional circumstances, including if you do anything that brings, or could bring, the Hospice’s reputation into disrepute or if you do not comply with these terms and conditions.

Liability

  1. You must be at least 18 years old on the day of the TCS London Marathon 2027 in order to take part.
  2. You acknowledge that taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2027 is at your own risk, and it is your responsibility to undertake appropriate training and take and follow appropriate medical advice in relation to your participation.

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. Participants' personal information will be collected and used in accordance with St John's Hospice’s Privacy Policy. This data will be used solely for the purposes of administering the fundraising event and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
  2. You agree that St John’s Hospice may use any photos taken of you or any appropriate quotes from email communications, social media posts or fundraising pages for promotion in digital and print media. You acknowledge that if you (or your next of kin) wish to withdraw this permission, you (they) must notify St John’s Hospice by contacting sjhmarketing@hje.org.uk. You also acknowledge that while St John’s Hospice will use all reasonable endeavours to comply with any such notice of withdrawal of permission, it cannot guarantee that materials already in public circulation at the date on which the request is received will be withdrawn.

St John’s Hospice reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes promptly.
