Own place applicants

Thank you for choosing to support St John’s Hospice! We are delighted to have you join Team St John’s. In order to complete your registration, you must agree to the terms and conditions listed below.

Fundraising

  1. All fundraising activities must comply with local laws and regulations. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their methods are lawful and ethical. You also agree to refer to the St John’s Safe and Legal fundraising guidelines and any other relevant information required to ensure safe and legal fundraising.
  2. You acknowledge that St John’s Hospice cannot and does not take responsibility for any losses in connection with your fundraising.

Withdrawal

  1. If you are unable to take part in your chosen challenge or fundraising, you agree to inform St John’s Hospice as soon as possible.
  2. Any fundraising will not be refunded unless requested by the individual donor.
  3. St John’s Hospice reserves the right to refuse your support in exceptional circumstances, including if you do anything that brings, or could bring, the Hospice’s reputation into disrepute or if you do not comply with these terms and conditions.

Liability

  1. You must be at least the minimum legal or required age on the day of your challenge in order to take part.
  2. You acknowledge that taking part in your challenge is at your own risk, and it is your responsibility to undertake any appropriate training and take and follow appropriate medical advice in relation to your participation.

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. Participants' personal information will becollected and used in accordance with St John's Hospice’s Privacy Policy. This data will be used solely for the purposes of administering the fundraising event and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
  2. You agree that St John’s Hospice may use any photos taken of you or any appropriate quotes from email communications, social media posts or fundraising pages for promotion in digital and print media. You acknowledge that if you (or your next of kin) wish to withdraw this permission, you (they) must notify St John’s Hospice by contacting sjhmarketing@hje.org.uk. You also acknowledge that while St John’s Hospice will use all reasonable endeavours to comply with any such notice of withdrawal of permission, it cannot guarantee that materials already in public circulation at the date on which the request is received will be withdrawn.
  3. St John’s Hospice reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes promptly.
