We're celebrating 40 years of care

This year, St John’s Hospice is celebrating 40 years of care! From much smaller beginnings in 1984, we now support more than 4,000 people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families across North London each year.

‍

To celebrate this special occasion, we have created our new ‘40 years of care’ logo. The new logo features leaves of Lemon Balm (calming) and Hawthorn (love and healing), as well as the official symbol of our 40th year, the Jasmine flower (happy memories).

‍

Ahead of May, our official birthday month, we'll be looking back over the last four decades and have some exciting ways you can help us celebrate our fortieth year and all the happy memories shared along the way. This includes joining us at our garden party and the opportunity to dedicate one of our anniversary jasmine flowers.

‍

‍

Celebrate our birthday with us

Save the Date! On Wednesday 26 June 2024 (6 – 9 pm), we’ll be hosting a garden party at the all-new St John’s Hospice Wellbeing Centre to celebrate our birthday and we’d love you to join us!

‍

With champagne and canapés, our birthday party will be the perfect opportunity to come together in our beautiful new gardens and celebrate 40 years of care. As well as enjoying the recently opened gardens, you will be able to look around our new Wellbeing Centre.‍

‍

The event is free to attend, instead, we are inviting you to dedicate a St John’s Jasmine Flower. If you would like to attend, please email sjhevents@hje.org.uk detailing how many tickets you would like to reserve.

‍

Please note that due to limited capacity, we will need to operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dedicate a St John’s Jasmine Flower

The jasmine flower and its beautiful scent have long been associated with moments of reflection and happy memories, making it the perfect symbol of our fortieth year.

‍

For a suggested minimum donation of £40, you can dedicate one of our hand-crafted St John’s Jasmine Flowers to someone special or with the name of your family, school, business or foundation to show your ongoing support of our hospice.

‍

Each of the anniversary jasmines has been hand-crafted and painted by sculptor James Sutton and their creation has been generously funded by Dorchester Collection. They can fit a dedication of up to 30 characters and will be displayed collectively at our birthday party in June in a beautiful installation. After which, you can take yours home to cherish forever.

‍

We have 400 jasmines available, and we would love each one to be dedicated to someone special or to act as a reminder of your ongoing support, creating a truly memorable display of our community’s generosity.
