About the event
The Brighton Marathon is one of the UK's favourite 26.2-milers. With a stunning backdrop of the sea in one of the country's most vibrant cities, the race gets bigger and better every year. Renowned for its buzzing atmosphere and roaring crowd support, the course winds through the city streets, finishing up on the spectacular Brighton seafront.
Join our team and represent St John’s Hospice whilst taking on this challenge. If you already have a place and would like to fundraise for us, we’d love to welcome you to the team. Let us know by using the form linked above, and we can support you along the way!
Why run for St John's?
As part of Team St John’s, you will receive:
- A free technical running vest or T-Shirt.
- One-on-one support and mentoring to help you with your fundraising.
- Regular e-newsletters to keep you up to date with all our latest news and activities.
All runners also receive:
- Event photography
- Timed results
- Finisher’s T-Shirt and medal (optional)
- Free trial with Coopah, the Official Training App for the Brighton Marathon
Most importantly, your fundraising will help us to reach more people and provide more care. Whether it is supporting a child with a bereavement counselling session following the loss of a loved one, providing a community nurse with new clinical equipment, or providing specialist one-to-one nursing on our Inpatient Unit.
How your support helps
Your brilliant fundraising total of £500 could fund all of the below:
- Help fund welfare and benefits support for eight families, ensuring they understand what financial support they are entitled to and how to access it.
- One day of Hospice@Home care, enabling a patient to remain in the comfort of their own home during the later stages of their illness while also providing valuable respite for their carers.
- Five bereavement counselling sessions for a patient's loved one, providing compassionate support when they need it most.
