Runner holds his arms up in a cheering pose as he runs past the camera.

A huge thank you for the opportunity to run the marathon for St John's Hospice. It will go down as the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my life and the fact I managed to reach the fundraising target makes it all the more worth it!”

Matt, TCS London Marathon 2025 runner.

Why run for St John’s?

As part of Team St John’s, you will receive:

  • A free hospice-branded technical running vest or T-Shirt plus iron-on lettering for the big day.
  • Free trial with Coopah, the Official Training App for the TCS London Marathon.
  • In person training day and tour of St John's.
  • One-to-one support and mentoring to help you with your fundraising.
  • On the day support and cheering from our dedicated staff and volunteers.
  • Free welcome gift of a St John’s tote bag and pin badge when you receive your first donation.
  • Shout outs on social throughout your marathon journey.
  • Event photography.
  • A TCS London Marathon 2027 finisher's medal and T-Shirt (optional).
  • Invites to all St John’s events for the next 12 months.

Most importantly, your fundraising will make a real difference in the community. You’ll help us reach more people and provide vital care, whether it’s supporting a child through bereavement counselling, funding an art therapy session in our Wellbeing Centre or helping families with respite care.

How your support helps

  • £25 could fund a bereavement counselling session for a patient's loved one, providing them with much needed support at the toughest time.
  • £50 could fund a group art therapy session in our Wellbeing Centre enabling our patients to learn new skills, express themselves and above all else, relax and have fun with one another.
  • £250 could fund a day of expert nursing care from a Healthcare Assistant in our Inpatient Unit.
  • £500 could fund 24-hour at home nursing care for a patient who wants to remain in familiar and comforting surroundings in the later stages of their illness.
