About the event
The iconic London Marathon takes in many of the city’s incredible landmarks. With thousands of supporters lining the streets cheering your name, it is a race like no other. You will get to run the streets of the capital in a closed-road race, with the famous route starting at Greenwich and finishing at the Mall.
You’ll run past some of the most well-known landmarks that London has to offer, including Cutty Sark, the Shard, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. It is also one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, so this could be the start of your six-star journey!
Apply for one of our charity places today! You could even double your chances and apply for a ballot place and use it to run for us if you're lucky enough to get one. The ballot closes on at 4pm on Friday 1 May 2026.
We will contact you in July to confirm the outcome of your application. If you are successful in securing a ballot place prior to this, please let us know.

“A huge thank you for the opportunity to run the marathon for St John's Hospice. It will go down as the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my life and the fact I managed to reach the fundraising target makes it all the more worth it!”
