About the event
Does your pet have star quality? We’re calling all pet lovers to show off your furry (or not-so-furry) friends and be in with a chance at winning one of four £100 vouchers for Pets at Home. All pets are welcome to join, so whether they purr, squawk, wiggle, or wag, we want to see your pet’s personality shine.
The competition, which is proudly sponsored by Creature Comforts, is now live and will run until 11 pm on Sunday 22 February 2026. The entries will be judged by the Creature Comforts team and St John’s Hospice staff, and winners will be announced via email and social media the following week.
You can enter as many pets, photos and categories as you wish, but there is a £2.50 donation required per entry. All proceeds will go directly towards providing quality, holistic care for those in our community.
The categories:
- Hard at Rest: It’s exhausting being this cute. This category applauds pets who nap like it’s their full-time job. Capture your pet mid-nap, mid-sprawl, or fully powered down after a long day of being adorable.
- Catch Me If You Can: Every paw, claw, wing, fin, or tail doing its thing! This category celebrates pets in full action - whether they’re sprinting, leaping, paddling, scampering, or even flapping. We want to see the energy, the excitement, and the pure joy of movement frozen in a single moment. Show us your furry, feathery, scaly, or slippery friend at their most dynamic.
- Paw-some Pair: A heart-melting moment that shows your pet’s favourite relationship - whether that’s with you, another animal or even their most-loved toy.
- Then & Now: From tiny paws to full-on personality - show us how your pet has grown, changed, or stayed just as adorable! Share a baby photo and a current one (side-by-side or separate uploads) to show off how much your pet has grown… or stayed perfectly mischievous.
Why take part in Paws for a Cause
By taking part in Paws for a Cause, you will not only have the chance to showcase your beloved companion, but you’ll also join a community of pet lovers coming together to make a difference. Plus, each category winner will receive a £100 voucher to spend at Pets at Home.
Entries cost £2.50, and you can enter as many times as you wish. You can also add a donation at checkout to help support our work even further.
How your support helps
- £10 could purchase new books and toys for the Children’s Room, helping to support patients' loved ones at the toughest time and to create a comforting environment for families to spend time together.
- £35 could provide a home visit from a community nurse who can provide much-needed support to patients and their families in their own homes.
- £50 could fund a group art therapy session in our new Wellbeing Centre, enabling our patients to learn new skills, express themselves and above all else, relax and have fun with one another.
